I visited the fruit sandwich specialty shop “lea momona” near Nishinasuno Station for the first time and bought the “Mushroom-Packed Sandwich” and “Silk Sweet.”
Fruit Sandwich Specialty Shop “lea momona,” located an 11-minute walk from the east exit of Nishinasuno Station.
Among the recommended posts on Instagram, someone had posted about this shop’s fruit sandwiches.
The posts looked incredibly delicious and piqued my interest, so I went to check it out myself.

Review of my actual experience visiting
According to the website, the shop’s name means “Happy Chubby” in Hawaiian.
The shop’s exterior also had a Hawaiian feel to it.

Ordered Menu and Price
I knew that they sell not only fruit sandwiches but also cooked items for lunch, so I bought two of each.
- Roast Beef Sandwich (702 JPY)
- Mushroom-Packed Sandwich (518 JPY)
- HoneyGrow Pineapple (648 JPY)
- Silk Sweet (626 JPY)
- Plastic Bag Small (3 JPY)
Roast Beef Sandwich
First up, the roast beef sandwich.
A crispy baguette packed with thick slices of roast beef!
Loaded with tomatoes and lettuce, it looks absolutely hearty.

I lightly warmed it in the microwave, and the rich flavor of the roast beef really came through—just right.
The sweet and savory sauce tied everything together, making it a truly satisfying dish.
Mushroom-Packed Sandwich
Next up: the mushroom-packed sandwich.
Soft, fluffy white bread filled with plenty of maitake, king oyster, and button mushrooms.
Plus, it’s seasoned with garlic butter, so from the very first bite, I couldn’t help but exclaim, “So good!”

The size is a bit small and leaves you wanting a little more, but with this flavor, I’ll actually want another one.
It’s an addictively delicious taste.
HoneyGrow Pineapple
Next up is the shop’s signature HoneyGlow Pineapple Fruit Sandwich, layered with fresh cream.

The star of the show is the soft, sweet, and juicy pineapple.
Its tartness was mild, and there’s almost no tingling sensation when I bit into it.
The whipped cream was also subtly sweet, creating a perfect balance that didn’t overpower the pineapple’s natural sweetness.
Silk Sweet
The last up was the baked sweet potato with fresh cream sandwich.
Silk Sweet is a Japanese sweet potato variety known for its super smooth, silky texture.
It’s naturally sweet, moist, and creamy—especially when baked.

The moist, smooth sweet potato had a creamy texture reminiscent of sweet potato pudding.
Combined with fresh cream, it achieved a rich yet refined sweetness.
It’s not flashy, but it’s deeply satisfying.
It was a comforting taste.
The atmosphere inside
The interior was bright and open.
It had a Hawaiian feel, but it was quite subdued.

The staff member was bright and friendly, kindly telling me about the “recommended features””of the products and “recently popular menu items.”
Features & Usability of lea momona
Here’s a quick look at the dining scenes and facilities at lea momona.
Recommended for different occasions
They also offer savory sandwiches, so even those who dislike fruit or whipped cream can enjoy them.
However, the savory options often sell out by mid-afternoon, so visiting early is recommended.
It’s takeout only, but they have a drink menu too, so pairing a fruit sandwich with a drink sounds like a great idea.
They also sell ice packs, so visitors from far away should be fine.
The price is a bit steep, but I think it’s okay to splurge as a reward for all your hard work.
