Just a 30-second walk from Kuroiso Station, Bakery Kanel Bread is known for making bread with as many locally sourced and domestically produced ingredients as possible.
Even before stepping inside, you can already smell the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread drifting out from the shop. 🥖
This time, I stopped by on my way to work to check out the menu and get a feel for the atmosphere.

Review of my actual experience visiting
This stylish bakery with its chic exterior is located right in front of Kuroiso Station.

Ordered Menu and Price
This time, I’ve selected two types of bread packed with the flavors of autumn.
- Mushroom and Nut Pizzetta (¥454)
- Pumpkin Gratin (¥357)
About taste
This little pizza-style bread is topped with a generous mix of mushrooms — maitake, eringi (king oyster), and more.
It’s small enough to hold in one hand, but packed with rich mushroom aroma and flavor.
The combination of melty cheese and savory mushrooms is just perfect — they really bring out the best in each other.
Plus, the crunchy walnuts on top add a nice texture contrast, making every bite a bit different and fun. 🍄✨

This one’s a rich and cozy treat — a soft bread topped with creamy pumpkin gratin.
The golden-brown top is beautifully toasted.
The pumpkin slices vary in thickness: the thin ones turn into crispy chips, while the thicker ones stay soft and fluffy inside.
That contrast in texture is amazing, and the natural sweetness of the pumpkin lingers pleasantly after each bite.
It honestly felt like enjoying a creamy gratin tucked inside warm bread — perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. 🎃

Both of these breads make the most of seasonal autumn ingredients, full of comforting flavors that any fall food lover would absolutely enjoy. 🍁
The atmosphere inside
Even though it was a weekday, the shop was buzzing with customers.
The space isn’t very large, and there’s a limit on how many people can enter at once.
As soon as I stepped in, I was surrounded by the sight (and smell!) of so many tempting breads — croissants, salted rolls, curry bread, cinnamon rolls, donuts, egg sandwiches, and more! 🥯🥪
They also had a great selection of hard-style breads with a nice crusty texture, which really stood out to me.

There was a bit of a line at the register, but the staff worked quickly, so it didn’t take long to get served.
