Lunch at SPICE AROMA, the spice cuisine and tea shop in front of Kuroiso Station! I had the Spice Curry Set!
Near the west exit of Kuroiso Station, there is a spice cuisine and tea shop called “SPICE AROMA” that just opened in October 2025.
A friend had told me a Nepalese restaurant had opened, but it turned out to be a “spice restaurant” rather than a “Nepalese restaurant” (lol).
This time, since I was craving something spicy, I decided to visit.

Review of my actual experience visiting
The aroma of spices filled the air inside the restaurant, heightening my anticipation of enjoying authentic cuisine.

Ordered Menu and Price
I ordered the “Homemade Craft Cola” and the “Spice Curry Set.”
- Homemade Craft Cola (300 JPY)
- Spice Curry Set (1,600 JPY)
Homemade Craft Cola
I ordered their homemade craft cola to go with my meal.
Right from the first sip, it was nothing like regular cola—the aroma of spices and fresh ginger really stood out.
When you drink it, the spice notes open up softly, followed by a sharp, ginger-ale-like kick that lingers in a really addictive way.
Since it’s lightly sweetened and super refreshing, it doesn’t overpower the food at all, and it paired especially well with the spiced dishes.

Spice Curry Set (dal bhat)
I learned that “dal bhat” is basically the Nepali version of a set meal.
The plate came beautifully arranged with dal (a lentil soup), bhat (steamed rice), achar (pickled or spiced vegetables), chicken curry, yogurt, and more—all on one platter.

The staff told me, “Mix everything well before you eat,” but I was curious about each flavor, so I started by tasting them one by one.
After trying everything individually, I spooned the dal, curry, and achar over the rice and ate them together.
Just as the staff suggested, mixing the dishes really brought out the best flavors.
The atmosphere inside
The restaurant had a calm atmosphere with cheerful background music.
There was one chef and one front-of-house staff member.
The staff seemed new and still getting used to the workflow—taking orders, serving dishes, and clearing tables.
Even so, their sincerity and effort really showed, so I didn’t feel any dissatisfaction at all.
Features & Usability of SPICE AROMA
Here’s a quick look at the dining scenes and facilities at SPICE AROMA.
Recommended for different occasions
They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
When I visited, someone with a dog was sitting on the terrace, so pets might be allowed outside (confirmation required).
It seems crowded until around 13:00, so if you can have a late lunch, it’s better to go at a different time.

Access & map
From Kuroiso Station (West Exit), take the left-side exit, turn right, and walk straight ahead.

Cross the pedestrian crossing in front of the Kuroiso Station police box.

After turning left, you’ll pass Pizzeria Pico, and AROMA SPICE is just a few steps ahead.

Summary|Who I recommend SPICE AROMA for
- Perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy spice-driven dishes from different countries
- Great for those who want to pair flavorful spice cuisine with wine
I’m already curious about the rest of the menu, and the meal left me wanting to come back to try their clay-pot biryani and kebabs next time. 🍽️
