I bought some rice balls “Smoked radish pickled & cheese,” “Plum mackerel,” and “Kimchi” from the food truck “Onigiri agrizm” that was set up in front of the Nishinasuno Government Building plaza!
“Onigiri agrizm,” operating a food truck primarily in northern and central Tochigi Prefecture.
It is a handmade rice ball shop using Koshihikari rice from Tochigi Prefecture.
I spotted a stall at the plaza in front of the Nishinasuno Government Building, so I stopped by and bought some rice balls “Smoked radish pickled & cheese,” “Plum mackerel,” and “Kimchi”!

Review of my actual experience visiting
After finishing my business at the Nishinasuno Government Building and stepping out into the plaza, I found the food truck “Onigiri agrizm” set up for business.

The menu listed nine types of rice balls.

Ordered Menu and Price
This time I ordered three rice balls!
- Smoked radish pickled & cheese (350 JPY)
- Plum mackerel (350 JPY)
- Kimchi (300 JPY)
She doesn’t make them ahead of time—each piece is made to order, one at a time.
I was able to get my takeout in about 3 to 4 minutes!
About portion size & taste
Depending on the ingredients, each rice ball weighed about 190 grams.

Smoked radish pickled & cheese
First up is the combo of Smoked radish pickled (iburigakko) and cheese.

The smoky aroma of iburigakko and the rich, creamy cheese surprisingly go perfectly together!
The crunchy poli-poli texture of the iburigakko adds a great accent, so it stays interesting all the way through.
It’s a fun onigiri where Japanese and Western flavors blend really well—and it’s kind of addictive, to be honest.
Plum mackerel
Next up is the pickled plum (ume) and mackerel combo.

The mellow tanginess of the ume and the rich, savory flavor of the mackerel come together in a perfectly balanced, can’t-go-wrong pairing.
The ume cuts through the richness of the mackerel and keeps things nice and refreshing, so it tastes lighter than it looks.
It’s filling, but the finish is clean and easy on the palate.
Kimchi
Last up is the kimchi one.

The spice level is pretty mild—no sharp kick—so the overall flavor feels smooth and well-balanced.
The umami and fermented depth of the kimchi blend nicely with the rice, and the flavor slowly spreads as you eat.
Even if you’re not great with spicy food, this onigiri is easy to enjoy.
The atmosphere and service of food trucks
This popular food truck has lines forming at lunchtime!
Since each item is handmade, it takes time—that’s just how it is.
When you buy multiple items, she’ll put them in a bag for easy carrying.
On windy days, they sometimes keep the windows closed.
It might be a bit awkward to call out…
But if the menu board is out, it is open—go ahead and give them a shout.
