A cake shop “feeze,” located a 6-minute walk from the West Exit of Kuroiso Station

This Western-style cake shop uses ingredients sourced from Tochigi Prefecture and serves the classic French dessert “Meringue Chantilly.”

I couldn’t go before because my days off didn’t align with their business hours, but this time I managed to take a day off on one of their business days, so I finally went!

Review of my actual experience visiting

The shop is located along the old National Route 4.

Ordered Menu and Price

When I visited, there were more than 10 different kinds of cake on offer.

All the cakes looked beautiful and delicious, so I had a really hard time deciding, but this time I chose the following three.

Meringue Chantilly

Apparently, “meringue” is the French word for baked meringue, and “chantilly” means whipped cream in French.

The meringue was crispy!

The chantilly cream was not too sweet!

The meringue had a crisp texture that melted away, and the perfectly sweet whipped cream spread across my palate.

I heard they didn’t add sugar to the whipped cream, so I guess that’s the natural sweetness of the ingredients.

It was a simple dessert, but the combination was absolutely perfect!

feeze’s Choux

The thick pastry has a satisfyingly crumbly texture!

The custard cream has just the right amount of rum, making it perfect for adults.

The pastry and cream go together perfectly—it’s simply delicious!

Even if you’re not usually a fan of custard cream, you might just find yourself hooked!

Du Fromage

A cheesecake consisting of two layers: a baked cheesecake layer and a mousse layer.

The baked cheesecake layer had a refreshing tartness and a firm texture, while the mousse layer was just the right amount of sweet and had a smooth texture.

I was so happy to be able to enjoy two different textures at once.

The atmosphere inside

It has that classic “patisserie” vibe.

It’s not very spacious—I’d say it can only fit about 4 or 5 people at a time.

The interior is simple yet stylish!

In the center, you’ll find pound cakes and financiers, while next to the register, there are meringue tarts and cream puffs on display.

When I asked the clerk a question about the sweets, they responded with a smile.

Their explanation was thorough, and I could really sense the care that went into making them.

They’re open until 17:00, but the selection of cakes is limited in the afternoon, so try to visit in the morning if you can!

The prices are a bit on the high side, but the taste and presentation are outstanding, so you might want to think of them as a treat to reward yourself for all your hard work.
