Visiting Café “Iris bread & coffee” – A Traditional Japanese-Style Café Right by Kuroiso Station West Exit
Just a 40-second walk from Kuroiso Station, Café Iris bread & coffee sits right next to the bakery “Kanel Bread” and has the charming look of a traditional Japanese house-style café.
I’d heard that their lemon tart is especially popular, so I couldn’t resist stopping by to check out the menu and see what the place was like! 🍋☕

Review of my actual experience visiting
The café is a charming, traditional Japanese-style spot located right in front of Kuroiso Station, and it’s actually attached to the bakery “Kanel Bread” & “Pizzeria Pico.”
The menu looked like this.

Ordered Menu and Price
I originally went there for their famous lemon tart, but it was already sold out! 🍋😢
So this time, I decided to try something else instead. ☕
- Cheese cake (¥480)
- Cold brew coffee (¥550)

About taste
The cold brew coffee had a light color at first, so I thought it might taste weak—but one sip completely changed my mind.
It wasn’t too bitter or acidic; instead, it had a gentle sweetness and a clean, refreshing finish.
The aroma was rich and deep, and the flavor slowly unfolded with every sip.
It had the crispness you’d expect from iced coffee, yet a smooth, mellow character that made me want to savor it slowly. ☕

The cheesecake was a rare (no-bake) style.
When I cut into it, the fork sank in softly, and the texture was moist and silky.
It was rich with cream cheese flavor but not heavy, and the slight tang gave it a nice, refreshing aftertaste.
It was more filling than it looked, and it paired perfectly with the coffee — the sweetness of the brew really stood out when enjoyed together.
A perfect treat for a relaxing afternoon. 🍰✨

The atmosphere inside
The café had a cozy, relaxing atmosphere — soft lighting, antique-style furniture, and a slow, peaceful vibe that made me forget about time. ☕✨

It seemed to be a busy time when I visited, and the staff looked quite occupied.
The only downside was that it took about 40 minutes for my order to arrive.
I noticed that people who came in after me got their drinks first, so I asked about it — turns out, my order hadn’t gone through properly.
Once they realized, the staff handled it right away and apologized very politely.
It was understandable since the place was crowded, but next time I think I’ll come during a quieter hour to enjoy it more leisurely. 🍰🕰️
