Lunch at Café Holiday! I had the “Holiday Curry” topped with eggplant and eggs.

There’s a café called "Café Holiday," run by an NPO, located just a 5-minute walk from Kuroiso Station. This time, I ordered the owner’s signature Holiday Curry as part of a set meal and had lunch there.

After eating "Yakisoba in soup" near the Shiobara-onsen Bus Terminal, I went on my second "tote-yaki tour." It was a day where I ate my fill!

Desserts at a tea shop! I ordered matcha ice cream and hojicha ice cream at Ohnoen.

I stopped by the tea shop "Ohnoen," a 4-minute walk from Nishinasuno Station, and tried their matcha and hojicha ice cream. Both were generously topped with matcha or hojicha, making for a dessert where I could really savor the rich flavor of the tea.

I ordered an Uji matcha latte and a Hojicha latte at “yamasan-chaten,” where I can try your hand at making tea.

Since the "Yamasan-chaten"—just a 4-minute walk from Nishinasuno Station—was participating in the "Nishinasuno ☆ Town Tour Digital Stamp Rally," I decided to check it out. You can also try your hand at preparing tea there, so it’s a delicious and fun tea shop.

While eating soba at Sakaeya, I learned the origin of “chilled soba.”

I visited Sakaeya, a soba restaurant just a 3-minute walk from Nishinasuno Station. Learning the origin of the "chilled" in "chilled soba" made for an intellectually stimulating lunch break.

At “Takekiyo Shokudo,” I savored the thick-cut chashu with its rich, sweet-and-salty flavor!

I walked 5 minutes from Nishinasuno Station to Takekiyo Shokudo and ordered the "Thick Chashu & Chicken Karaage Set Meal." The thick slices of chashu, soaked in a rich, sweet-and-savory sauce, were absolutely amazing, and they paired perfectly with the rice.
Izakaya & Bar

I ordered grilled offal and offal hot pot at the izakaya “Tabegoro” near Nishinasuno Station.

I went to the izakaya "Tabegoro," a 3-minute walk from Nishinasuno Station, and had grilled offal and offal hot pot. The offal had no unpleasant odor and was delicious, with the sweetness and umami of the fat. The cozy atmosphere made it a very comfortable place to spend time.

“Tote-yaki Tour①” I took a bus from the Nishinasuno Station to the Shiobara-onsen.

From Nishinasuno Station, I took a bus to Shiobara Hot Springs Village. I went on a tour of the local specialty, "Tote-yaki." I visited four shops, and each offered uniquely crafted "Tote-yaki" that was absolutely delicious.

I ordered the “Pork Loin Cutlet Set Meal” at Tonkatsu Takada near Nishinasuno Station.

I tried the Pork Loin Cutlet Set Meal at a tonkatsu specialty shop called "Tonkatsu Takada," about a 6-minute walk from Nishinasuno Station. The pork was super juicy, with savory flavor spreading through every bite, and the fat had a light, pleasant sweetness. Paired with the slightly sweet, toasty sauce, it was a perfect match—and my rice disappeared without me even noticing.

I purchased savory crepes at “Crepe Bar Senn,” a sweet spot near Nishinasuno Station!

I visited Crepe Bar Sen, a crepe specialty shop where you can customize everything from the crepe batter to the toppings to create your perfect crepe. The shop also had savory crepes (like bacon pizza-style and prosciutto-cheese), so I combined dinner and dessert into one crepe.
