Tried and Tested: Cheese Garden, 12 minutes by bus from Nasushiobara Station

Coffee Shop & Sweets

Cheesecake Assortment @ Cheese Garden in the NASU GARDEN OUTLET, 8-12 minutes by bus from Nasushiobara Station

Craving cheesecake, I headed to a popular cheesecake shop called Cheese Garden located inside the NASU GARDEN OUTLET.

It’s a bit of a ride from Nasushiobara Station, but there’s a free shuttle bus from the west exit that takes about 8–12 minutes*, so getting there is pretty easy.

*Travel time may vary depending on traffic and signals.

Ordered Menu and Price

About taste

The price felt a little on the high side, but the quality more than made up for it—it was definitely worth it.

Goyotei Cheesecake

First up was the Goyotei Cheesecake**.

Rich and cheesy, yet not too heavy—it had a silky texture and a moist bite that really stood out.

NASU WHITE

Next, the NASU WHITE (Fromage Blanc).

Between the crunchy cookie crust and the cream cheese layer, there’s a thin layer of strawberry jam that adds a lovely sweet-and-tart accent.

Compared to your usual no-bake cheesecake, this one had a stronger cheese flavor, with a refreshing tang and mellow creaminess that balanced perfectly.

SHIRASAGI

Then came SHIRASAGI, a three-layer cheesecake.

A maple- and nut-flavored base topped with a cheese layer and finished with sour cream—this one felt super refined.

The gentle aroma of vanilla beans, the melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the rich flavor made it unforgettable.

Elegant, yet with a clean aftertaste that left me wanting another slice.

Seasonal cheesecake

Seasonal cheesecake was the baked chestnut cheesecake.

It was another highlight.

The delicate fragrance and natural sweetness of Japanese chestnuts paired beautifully with the rich, creamy cheese.

Maybe it was because I had it on a crisp autumn day, but each bite really felt like the taste of fall.

Crème d’Ange

Finally, the Crème d’Ange.

This one was all about the fluffy cheese cream—it practically melted the moment it touched my tongue, releasing a light cheese aroma.

Refreshing, tangy, and wonderfully airy.

**Goyotei means imperial villa. The distributor named it in reference to the nearby “Nasu Imperial Villa,” a place of rest for the Imperial Family.

The atmosphere inside & Services

When I walked in, I saw tables in the center, counter seats in the back, and even a terrace outside.

Since I visited on a holiday, the place was packed.

About five people were lined up at the register, and I waited around 10 minutes.

There was a sign saying the wait for food was about 30 minutes, but the cakes came out right after I ordered!

They mentioned that ordering a drink together makes it a set, but when I checked my receipt at home, the price was basically the same as ordering separately (lol).

Features & Usability of Cheese Garden

Here’s a quick look at the dining scenes and facilities at Cheese Garden located inside the NASU GARDEN OUTLET.

Recommended for different occasions

The counter seats make it easy to drop by alone, while the tables and terrace are great for families or couples.

The shop is super convenient too since it’s close to the station—you can browse other stores before or after your meal.

One thing to note: dogs are allowed inside the outlet, so you’ll see lots of people with their pets. If you’re not comfortable around dogs, that might be a bit tough.
