I stopped by Ramen shop “Menya Hideyoshi,” just a 3-minute walk from Nishinasuno Station, and tried their “Chashu Ramen,” which is light but still full of flavor.
It’s just a 3-minute walk from Nishinasuno Station, “Menya Hideyoshi” is known for its clean-tasting soy sauce ramen.
Since I was in the area around lunchtime, I decided to pop in and give their chashu noodles* a try.
*Chashu noodles are ramen topped with slices of braised pork.

Review of my actual experience visiting
As I approached the shopfront, the rich aroma of broth wafted through the air.

Ordered Menu and Price
This time, I chose the popular soy sauce ramen topped with generous amounts of chashu pork.
・Chashu Noodles (¥1,200)

A soup that’s light yet richly flavorful
The first thing you notice is the crystal-clear broth.
Take a sip, and a gentle chicken richness blooms in your mouth, balanced with just the right touch of soy sauce.
The noodles are medium-thick and curly. Their pleasantly chewy texture is satisfying.
The noodles are medium-thick and wavy, and they hold the broth beautifully.
They’ve got a nice chewy bounce when I bite into them, giving each mouthful a satisfying weight.
Chashu with a smoky finish from charcoal grilling
The chashu, which are slices of braised pork, has a subtle smoky aroma that really stands out.
Just one bite and you immediately think, “Whoa, that’s nicely roasted!”
I asked the owner about it, and it turns out they finish the pork by lightly smoking it over charcoal.
That extra smokiness pairs perfectly with the clean soy-based broth.
The ingredients also include the popular “broccoli sprouts”!
Aside from the chashu, the bowl comes with menma, naruto, seaweed, komatsuna (a Japanese leafy green), and green onions — a really well-balanced mix.
It even has broccoli sprouts, which have been getting a lot of attention lately.
The atmosphere inside
When you walk in, there’s a ticket machine on the left and counter seating toward the back.

I bought a ticket for the chashu noodles, handed it to the staff, and took a seat.
Water is self-serve.

I arrived around noon, and although there was only one customer before me, people started coming in one after another about five minutes later.
If you miss the timing, you might have to wait a bit.
My bowl of chashu noodles came out about five minutes after ordering!
