“moon breeze” is a cozy spot where you can enjoy dishes made with local ingredients and a nice selection of non-alcoholic cocktails.
The place is run by a master bartender with over 20 years of experience and his wife, just the two of them.
It’s about a 20-minute walk from Nasushiobara Station, so a bit of a trek, but you can hop on a bus from the west exit and get dropped off near the restaurant — which is exactly how I got there for lunch.

It has the appearance of a secluded hideaway nestled quietly among the fields.

100% Ground Pork “Hearty Minced Pork menchi-katsu Sandwich”
The menchi-katsu is made with a special order of Nasu Highlands pork from a local butcher.
The fat has incredible flavor, the meat is juicy, and overall it was just amazing.
Since it’s made with 100% ground pork, the aftertaste is surprisingly clean — so light that I honestly felt like, “I could eat this every day.”
It’s that addictive.
Homemade non-alcoholic sangria
Their non-alcoholic sangria is made by soaking fresh fruits in grape juice instead of wine.
Super fruity and easy to drink, and it definitely made me think, “If it were Bar time, I’d love to try the alcoholic version too!”
The atmosphere inside & Service
The master and his wife were incredibly kind and attentive, and the warm wooden interior mixed with the retro-yet-refined décor created such a cozy atmosphere.
Everything just felt right — the whole place has a really welcoming vibe.
While waiting for the food, they chatted with me, happily answering my questions and joining in on small talk with a smile.
You can really feel how much care they put into their cooking, and it made me think, “I definitely want to come back here regularly.”

I ate in this time, but they also offer takeout, so you could easily stop by during a break at work.
While I was there, I even saw someone enjoying a soft-serve cone while waiting for their takeout order — a pretty solid “eat-in + takeout” combo.
Since they stay open straight through until Bar Time in the evening, the place also works well if you missed lunch and want something that’s basically a late-lunch/early-dinner.
The master told me that even during Bar Time, it’s totally fine to come just for the food, so people who don’t drink can enjoy it too.
