About a 10-minute walk from Kuroiso Station’s west exit, you’ll find “Kuroiso Broiler,” a long-running Japanese deli specializing in fried meat dishes — like karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken), menchi katsu (deep-fried minced meat patties), and tebasaki (fried chicken wings).
It’s been a local favorite for years, and though it’s a bit of a walk from the station, the freshly fried dishes are totally worth it.

Review of my actual experience visiting
The exterior has that slightly aged look — but that’s part of the charm of a long-standing shop.
Just seeing the signboard gives you that feeling of, “This place is definitely going to be good!”
The menu includes karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken), menchi katsu (deep-fried minced meat patties), roasted chicken wings, and chicken cutlets.

The shop staff told me, “You don’t need any sauce for this one,” — and they were absolutely right.
It’s perfectly flavorful on its own, showing how much confidence they have in the ingredients themselves.

The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the toasty aroma of grilled soy sauce — it’s irresistible.
The owner used to be a designer, so the interior has a stylish, modern touch while still feeling cozy and welcoming.
There’s also a small eat-in space in the back right corner, perfect for a quick bite.
